Mackintosh LTC – October Half Term Tennis Camps & Matchplay Day 2023

We are very pleased to be running 3 days of tennis camps and a matchplay day at Mackintosh LTC during the October Half Term.

Aimed at children aged 4-16 of all experience levels, the tennis camps are a brilliant way for your children to keep fit, have fun, improve their tennis and make new friends. With our enthusiastic team of LTA Accredited qualified coaches (all DBS checked and First Aid trained) your children are guaranteed an amazing experience in a safe and well organised environment.

Competition is a vital element to your child’s learning and development in both tennis and life. The matchplay day will provide a great opportunity for your child to gain experience learning to play matches in a fun and relaxed environment. We will group players with others of a similar level where possible (open to all children who can serve & rally).

OCTOBER HALF TERM CAMPS
Tuesday 31st October 2023 – Thursday 2nd November 2023

Blue & Red Stage (ages 4-8) – 10-10:55am
£7.50 members / £10 non-members (per day)
£22.50 members / £30 non-members (3 days)

All Day Camps (ages 8+) – 11-3:55pm
£25 members / £30 non-members (per day)
£75 members / £90 non-members (3 days)

Please note – there are only a limited number of places on the camps. Please book early to avoid disappointment. 

In the event of poor weather conditions, camps will take place indoors with sessions adapted to ensure they remain fun, engaging and beneficial. Please still ensure your child is dressed appropriately for outdoors – we will always aim to go ahead outdoors unless the rain is heavy or the courts are unplayable.

MATCHPLAY DAY – FRIDAY 3RD NOVEMBER

Red – 10am-12pm
Orange – 12:30pm-2:30pm
Green – 10am-12:30pm
Yellow – 3pm-6pm

Mackintosh LTC – Grand Slam Series

We are excited to introduce our NEW Mackintosh Grand Slam series, which will be a number of internal competitions that we will run throughout the year for youth players who are new to playing matches or for those looking to gain some additional match play experience.

The events will run on the 2nd Saturday of each half term/school holiday and will provide players from ages 6-18 with an opportunity to engage with regular competition & will give players a purpose and something to prepare/aim for during their coaching sessions leading up to each event.

The first event will be the Australian Open series and will take place on Saturday 26th February.

Mackintosh LTC – May Half Term Matchplay Day

During the May Half Term we will be running a LTA Youth Matchplay day at Mackintosh LTC for players aged 6-14 on Friday 4th June.

Playing matches and competition is a vital part of learning to play the game. Competition can help to motivate players and provides a purpose for coaching. In addition, it helps to teach players key life lessons such as learning to win and lose, never giving up, fair play and sportsmanship, plus lots more.

Events include:
8&U Red Stage – 10am-12pm
9&U Orange Stage – 1pm-3:30pm
10&U Green Stage – 9:30-12:30pm
14&U Yellow Stage – 1:30-4:30pm

All events will include both singles and doubles matches played in a relaxed environment to give players a great competition experience.

Ages 2.5-4 – Tots Tennis
Tots Tennis runs every Friday during the term-time 10-10:45am & 2-2:45pm. The cost is £4 per session (pay & play) – no booking required, just turn up and get involved. Please contact Emma on 07970 820307 for more information

Ages 4-11 – Tennis For Kids courses
Tennis for Kids is a great way to get started in tennis. Receive 6 fun and interactive coaching sessions, a racket and ball set, plus a personalised t-shirt for only £25 (+£4.99 P&P)

Adults (ages 16+)

Tennis Xpress (Beginners)
If you have never played tennis before, or haven’t played in a long time, then Tennis Xpress is for you. It is an easy and fun way for adult beginners to get into the game. During the six sessions you will be taught new skills and be shown how to serve, rally and score, so that by the end, you will be able to enjoy fun matches with your friends, family and other people you meet.

We still have a few places available for our Summer Holiday course, starting next Monday 22nd July.
Monday 22nd July – Wednesday 7th August 7-8:30pm (every Monday & Wednesday)

Adults Summer Tennis Camps (Improvers/Advanced)
We are also running a number of sessions during the school holidays for Adults who have played more tennis and are looking to make some improvements to their game. These sessions will run on the following dates from 7-8:30pm: Monday 22nd July, Friday 26th July, Monday 29th July, Friday 2nd August, Monday 5th August, Monday 12th August, Wednesday 14th August, Friday 16th August.

The cost of the sessions is as follows:
£10 members / £12 non-members (per day) or, £65 members / £80 non-members (all 8 days)

Cardio Tennis (All Levels)
Cardio Tennis runs every Friday (during term-time) 7:15-8:15pm. The cost is £4 members / £5 non-members.

Cardio Tennis is a fun, sociable group fitness class set on a tennis court and open to people of all ages and abilities. Supported by music and qualified instructors, you’ll get to hit lots of tennis balls during your class and have a great cardio workout at the same time. Mackintosh LTC – Road to Wimbledon 2019 – Results

ROAD TO WIMBLEDON 2019 – RESULTS

A big well done to all 14 players who took part in our 14&U Road to Wimbledon competition on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th May. Some fantastic matches played by all.

Congratulations to Oskar Gregory for winning the boys event beating Ben Aseeley in a really close match which finished 11-9 in a 3rd set tie-break.

Congratulations to Tilly Menin-Steere for winning the girls event with Celia Sklirou finishing as runner-up.

Best of luck to our players who will be representing the club in the South Wales County Finals.
