Mackintosh LTC – Mixed Singles Handicap Competition 2016 – Results

Handicap Final 2016

Saturday was a great day at the club with the Tennis Mixed Singles Handicap finals taking place.

Firstly,  Head Coach Rhys Morgan was against Coach Billy Barclay in the Main Draw final. The handicap system meant Rhys had to give Billy an 8 point head start in each set. Both players played some excellent tennis in the match with Rhys eventually coming out on top in 3 sets 21-12 9-21 21-11.

The second match was the Consolation Draw final which was contested between Aaron Trott and Oskar Gregory. Both players had excellent wins in their respective semi-finals to reach this stage of the competition. Oskar proved to be too strong for Aaron in the final winning in straight sets 21-8 21-13. This was a great achievement for Oskar – who was the youngest player in the draw.

A big shout out to Chair Umpire Tom Griffiths who did an excellent job umpiring the matches. Also a huge thanks to all of the spectators who came along to watch the matches.

Mackintosh LTC – Wimbledon Ticket Ballot 2016

Calling all members,

Would you be interested in going to watch the tennis at Wimbledon this year? Having been on a number of occasions myself, I can thoroughly recommend the experience to anyone who has never been before.

This is an urgent request for all members who haven’t already done so to Opt-In for the Wimbledon Ticket Ballot 2016. The deadline for opting-in is Friday 19th February.

Last year we had an excellent allocation of 16 pairs of tickets distributed amongst our members for the Championships. At present, we will be allocated significantly fewer pairs of tickets than last year due to the low number of members who have opted-in. Even if you are not interested in going to Wimbledon this year, we would be extremely grateful if you could opt-in – this will help gain a bigger allocation of tickets for the club and in turn improve the chances of others gaining tickets.

For more information on opting-in, please follow the link below:
