However, the tennis courts will remain open for the use of members (subject to strict social distancing and hygiene practices). Individual lessons/hitting are also available from the coaching team (adapted to ensure safe social distancing – with the coach staying on the opposite side of the net). On Saturday 14th December 2019, members of all ages enjoyed some festive celebrations at the club.
During the Children’s party, the children enjoyed dancing, playing some fun games and even had a visit from Father Christmas. To see some of the photos, please click here .
The second party saw some of our junior members taking on the Christmas Mini Olympics. With a range of activities including table tennis, pool, crisp tasting, dynamic quiz and the legendary After 8 challenge with Emma’s Baubles taking the win. To see some of the photos, please click here.

Tennis Xpress (Beginners)
If you have never played tennis before, or haven’t played in a long time, then Tennis Xpress is for you. It is an easy and fun way for adult beginners to get into the game. During the six sessions you will be taught new skills and be shown how to serve, rally and score, so that by the end, you will be able to enjoy fun matches with your friends, family and other people you meet.
We still have a few places available for our Summer Holiday course, starting next Monday 22nd July.

Adults Summer Tennis Camps (Improvers/Advanced)
We are also running a number of sessions during the school holidays for Adults who have played more tennis and are looking to make some improvements to their game. These sessions will run on the following dates from 7-8:30pm: Monday 22nd July, Friday 26th July, Monday 29th July, Friday 2nd August, Monday 5th August, Monday 12th August, Wednesday 14th August, Friday 16th August.
The cost of the sessions is as follows:
£10 members / £12 non-members (per day) or, £65 members / £80 non-members (all 8 days)

Cardio Tennis (All Levels)
Cardio Tennis runs every Friday (during term-time) 7:15-8:15pm. The cost is £4 members / £5 non-members.
Cardio Tennis is a fun, sociable group fitness class set on a tennis court and open to people of all ages and abilities. Supported by music and qualified instructors, you’ll get to hit lots of tennis balls during your class and have a great cardio workout at the same time. South Wales self storage firm Easystore has backed one of the country’s top tennis clubs in a sponsorship deal that helps the future of the sport in the Welsh capital.
Mackintosh LTC is based in the Roath area of Cardiff and will utilise the partnership to help reinvest in its facilities as well as support its senior teams, starting with an Open Day on Saturday 12th May.

Located in the heart of Roath, near the centre of Cardiff, the Mackintosh Sports Club has a very well established Lawn Tennis Club. Mackintosh Lawn Tennis Club recently named Tennis Wales Club of the Year for 2017 is one of the oldest tennis clubs in Wales and a founder member of the Welsh LTA. The club boasts a total of five outdoor floodlit hard macadam courts, and offers a comprehensive coaching and competitions programme catering for players of all ages and experience levels.

Are you looking for an activity to keep your children busy during the school holidays? Our holiday tennis camps are a fantastic way for your children to keep fit, have fun, improve their tennis and make new friends.
We will be running two weeks of Easter Holiday Tennis Camps on the following dates:
Week 1 – Tuesday 3rd – Friday 6th April (4 days)
Week 2 – Monday 9th – Friday 13th April (5 days)
For children aged 4-8 years we will be running Mini Red sessions every morning 10-11am. For the children aged 8+ there is an all day tennis camp running from 11am-4pm.

We will be holding a quiz night on Saturday 7th March starting at 7:30pm. Anyone can come along for the evening, with teams of up to 6 people. The quiz will cost £1 per person and there will be prizes for the winning team.
No need to get a babysitter for the evening – following the success of Emma’s childcare service during the last quiz night, she has kindly offered her services once again. Childcare will cost £5 per child and will include soft drinks, popcorn and a movie in a safe and child friendly environment.
