Mackintosh LTC – Tennis Wales Club of the Year 2017

We are extremely proud to announce that in the recent Tennis Wales Awards evening, we have been named Tennis Wales Club of the Year for 2017!!

We would like to thank all of our members and everyone involved with the club for your fantastic support, which has helped us achieve this award.

2017 was an extremely successful year for the club. Some of our biggest achievements from the last 12 months are shown below:

  • Increase of members from 231 (2014) to 351 (2017)
  • Increase of players on the programme from 208 (2014) to 285 (2017)
  • 3 out of 6 Winter League team promoted during 2016/17 season
  • 4 out of 4 Summer League teams promoted during 2017 season
  • 14 teams entered in AEGON Team Tennis South Wales (most teams out of any clubs in South Wales)
  • AEGON Team Tennis National Open Tier Midlands Winners 2017 – qualified for National Finals
  • Almost £2,000 raised for Charity in 24 hour tennis marathon
  • 35 volunteers – including committee members, team captains and tennis leaders
  • Started an outreach programme at a local park site to provide more opportunities for people in the community to play tennis.
  • A number of successful social events bringing members together at the club, including family quiz nights, Halloween party and Golf Day.

Mackintosh LTC – Mixed Singles Handicap Competition 2017

Entries are now being taken for this years Mixed Singles Handicap Competition.

This years event will start from Monday 13th March, with the final taking place on Saturday 8th April @ 3pm.

The event is open to all adults & stronger juniors – all entrants must be members of Mackintosh LTC

Please download & complete an entry form & return with payment to Head Coach Rhys Morgan by no later than Friday 10th March 10pm.

Mackintosh LTC – Mixed Singles Handicap Tournament 2017

Quiz night – Saturday 7th March

We will be holding a quiz night on Saturday 7th March starting at 7:30pm. Anyone can come along for the evening, with teams of up to 6 people. The quiz will cost £1 per person and there will be prizes for the winning team.

No need to get a babysitter for the evening – following the success of Emma’s childcare service during the last quiz night, she has kindly offered her services once again. Childcare will cost £5 per child and will include soft drinks, popcorn and a movie in a safe and child friendly environment.
