Mackintosh LTC – Summer Holiday Tennis Camps 2016

Are you looking for activities to keep your children active during the Summer Holidays? Why not give our popular Summer Holiday Tennis Camps a go? The tennis camps are aimed at children aged from 4-16. Our team of experienced coaches will run a range of fun progressive and challenging exercises to help players develop and improve their basic technique and develop tactical awareness. There will also be a great deal of emphasis on developing players agility, balance, coordination and speed which are all essential if they are to improve their tennis.

Mackintosh LTC – Road to Wimbledon 2016 Results

Our annual 14&U Road to Wimbledon competition took place during the May Bank Holiday weekend.

10 players took part in the Boys event – some players were playing in their first ever Road to Wimbledon event, whilst others were taking part in their 4th event at the club. There were some excellent matches throughout the event, with all players gaining valuable matchplay experience. The final was contested by two Road to Wimbledon veterans, Ben Voss and Lorca Heeney-Brockett (pictured below) both playing in their 4th and last ever Road to Wimbledon event. Congratulations to Ben who won the final – winning his 4th consecutive Road to Wimbledon title at Mackintosh LTC!!

We were delighted to get a total of 8 entries for our first ever girls Road to Wimbledon event. The girls all had lots of fun playing, with some excellent close matches. Congratulations to Lauren Young who beat Eve Wynne-Owen 6-3 6-3 in a close final (pictured below).

Best of luck to all of our finalists who will go on to represent Mackintosh LTC in the South Wales County Finals.

We are already looking forward to next years event!!

Mackintosh LTC – Family Quorn Tennis Cup 2016

Based on the success of last years event we will be running another Mini Red Family Quorn Tennis Cup event this year. This event is open to all Mini members at the club born 1 September 2005 or later (10 years & under) playing with an adult family member* born 31 August 1997 or earlier (18+). Entry to the event will cost £5 per pair.

*adult family member – parent, carer, guardian, step parent, co-parent, uncle, auntie, sibling or grandparent.

Last year this event was loads of fun for everyone. The children loved playing with their parents & it was a great introduction for many to start enjoying playing matches. I would recommend this event to any Mini players keen to start playing matches. There will also be great deals on the day for the parents, including membership discounts & adults coaching discounts.

The winners from the Mackintosh Family Quorn Tennis Cup will earn the opportunity of a day at a Quorn Family Tennis Cup event held on the qualifying weekend of a LTA grass court major event in May or June. Last year Mackintosh winners Rocco and Becky had an amazing experience playing at Surbiton and watching some of the professionals play.

Please contact Rhys or Emma if you would like to enter. We will be asking as many of you as possible to enter over the next few weeks.
